How sinister are bike sharing programs?

Colorado gubernatorial candidate Dan Maes is on to you City of Denver and your bike sharing program. Does he see it as communist perhaps? Nope, according to him this is the first step to turn the city and perhaps country over to UN control. He warns us "This is bigger than it looks like on the surface, and it could threaten our personal freedoms". Makes me take a big gulp. Don't say this genius didn't warn us.
